Engels Engineering recently collaborated on a project designing fixtures for the Flyover attraction over Chicago's Navy Pier. Accelerated Timeline
Context: Client came with an emergency project for an automative manufacturing project. The previous design firm was 18 months late on design, and the drawings would have resulted in unsafe, incomplete, and non functional equipment.
Solution
The equipment was a clam shell style tab bend component clip press capable of handling 60 parts per hour. It included 16 pneumatic cylinders, air blow offs, and the manufacturer concerned required safety interlocks for safe operation. From start to finish Engels Engineering took three weeks to design the tooling. It was manufactured in 2023 and is currently in use today.
